Sanctaidd has the following aims
1. To provide support and training in caring for Welsh places of worship
2. Raise money for Welsh places of worship, and make grants to help give them a better future (including, but not limited to, repair grants)
3. Increase public understanding and appreciation of Welsh places of worship, and raise their profile (including using them for educational purposes)
4. Promote Welsh places of worship to visitors
Sanctaidd is a new organisation which has evolved from Churches Tourism Network Wales. It has great ambitions to:
1. Develop an information base about the needs of the sector, including key buildings at risk, to help inform decision makers
2. Develop a web portal to effectively link information to help those caring for places of worship (learning from and utilising National Churches Trust experience and resources). This would be linked to developing and promoting training events and opportunities.
3. Seek out ways to build capacity in the sector including encouraging the recruitment of support officers
4. Improve links to existing funding sources such as the HLF, NCT, Cadw etc
5. Develop new fundraising initiatives to lever money from new sources e.g. legacy marketing, tours and talks
6. Develop a national fundraising event to engage the wider public e.g. Ride+Stride Event in collaboration with NCT
7. Create a national calendar of events linking to Cadw Open Doors and other initiatives
