Safe Passage International (SPI) is a strategic organisation with a legal focus. We champion refugee rights to legal safe passage (protection and a dignified life) through strategic legal work, advocacy, capacity building and community organising.
Safe Passage started as a project of charity Citizens UK in response to the plight of child refugees in Calais. In the last three years we have developed into a multi award winning project with an annual spend of £1.2 million and approximately 22 staff active in 3 countries. More than 1,800 children have travelled through the safe and legal routes we have helped open through our ground-breaking cross-border approach.
In the last year SPI has registered as legal organisations in France and Greece, enabling our operations to grow from strength to strength.
