Ryedale Folk Museum's vision is to build and share its collection to encourage an appreciation of our area’s sense of place and the stories of our people. The Museum’s purpose is to provide learning opportunities and enjoyable experiences to visitors and the local community through the presentation of its collections.

With a six-acre site set in the heart of the North York Moors, we are an open-air museum with twenty historic buildings, through which visitors can explore the history and daily lives of North Yorkshire people from the Iron Age to the 20th Century.
