Objectives

Who we are

We are the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) in Rushmoor. Our role in the community is to champion volunteering and to help and support any voluntary or community group working in the Borough of Rushmoor. We are members of the Hampshire CVS Network, an alliance of 10 local organisations who work together to help Hampshire’s charities, community groups and social enterprises to succeed and flourish.

In partnership with the voluntary, statutory and business sectors, enabling all the people of Rushmoor to play a full and active part in the life of the local community.

Our Area

  • The area we cover contains Aldershot, Farnborough, North Camp and Blackwater Valley in the north east corner of Hampshire.
  • RVS is a Membership Organisation
  • Membership is free to any voluntary or community group working to the benefit of people in

Activities

RVS is a hub for organisations wanting to promote their services; for those seeking volunteer help and for those seeking to make links with other organisations in the area, including funders.

RVS is a hub for individuals, those wishing to volunteer and those seeking a service for their needs.

RVS manage numerous projects that provide community benefit. These include:

  • A supported volunteering gardening project.
  • Home Help providing shopping and light housework to frail, elderly and disabled people.
  • Community Transport which includes a group-hire minibus scheme.
  • Dial a Ride services in Rushmoor & Hart.

RVS holds a Voluntary Sector Forum (VSF) once per quarter offering a platform for presentations from member organisations and a networking opportunity for attendees.

RVS:

  • Publishes a quarterly newsletter in both electronic and print formats.
  • Distributes a monthly e-bulletin with the latest news including training and funding opportunities.
  • Circulates daily news, job opportunities and announcements to its e-mailing list as a service for member organisations and itself.
