Objectives

The Citizens Advice service can give you free and completely independent advice and information on a wide range of subjects including:

  • Benefits
  • Employment Issues
  • Discrimination Issues
  • Family/Relationship Issues
  • Housing
  • Legal

Independent

We are able to offer independent advice to all enquirers and take up any issue on behalf of individuals or groups.

 Impartial

We are open to everybody for advice regardless of race, religion, politics or sexual orientation.

 Confidential

Nothing learned by the Citizens Advice service from a client will be passed on to anyone outside the service.

 Free

Clients are not expected to pay for any part of the service, although donations are always welcome.

CAMPAIGNING FOR CHANGE

One of the aims of the Citizens Advice service is to "to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives”. This means that the central Citizens Advice service talks to Government and other policy makers to help improve the laws and services that affect ordinary people
