Our objective is simple:
We work to prevent cruelty, promote kindness towards and alleviate suffering of animals by all lawful means, with a particular focus on animals within the Canterbury Branch area.
The RSPCA Canterbury & District Branch is a local Branch of the RSPCA supporting the work of Inspectors. Our charity is based primarily from our cat rehabilitation and rehoming centre in Hersden; we take cats in from a life of abuse, neglect, abandonment or suffering and care for them until they are ready to be rehomed.
We support the local community and animals however we can and offer services such as low cost neutering, microchipping and veterinary treatment for owned domestic animals such as cats, dog and rabbits, where the owner is in receipt of benefits. We employ a local Animal Welfare Officer to help members of the community with animal welfare matters.
We fundraise locally to support the work of our animal centre - in part, through our charity shops in Tankerton, Whitstable and Sittingbourne.
Our charity is run by a local group of volunteer trustees - we welcome expressions of interest to join our growing and diverse board.
