Objectives

The Ropetackle Trust is an independent charity and company limited by guarantee and was set up to establish and run the community-focused Arts Centre, launched in 2007.

The Centre has, during the past 12 years, become firmly established as one of the leading arts centres of its kind in the south of England, regularly receiving high praise from artists, their agents and the media.  Ropetackle has won many awards including the Evening Argus “Going Out Award” as the best theatre or arts venue (2014) as well as Sussex Life Entertainment Venue of the Year (2016).  The Centre was shortlisted for the 2017 Adur and Worthing Business Awards and this year won Best Sussex Theatre and Arts Venue – Muddy Stilettos Awards 2019.

Running such a vibrant and busy Arts Centre is not without its challenges and this is why we are seeking new Trustees with energy, vision and experience to help us to take Ropetackle 2020 forward.

Activities

The Ropetackle is the cornerstone of the arts and cultural life of the Adur District, and attracts audiences from further afield.  We aim to offer a diverse programme of events which appeals to all sectors of the community at affordable prices.  The centre is supported by a huge team of volunteers who help to run the bar and the box office, and to steward all events and they are supported by a small team of paid professionals under the guidance of the Trustee Board.
