1. To improve social welfare be equipping people with skills to help alleviate symptoms of food poverty.
2. The advancement of education for the benefit of the public in the areas of cookery, growing & gardening, healthy eating and other associated areas.
3. To inspire people to take up exercise or a new sport by providing new classes and clubs to join. To improve the community's fitness levels whilst bringing people together.
4. To encourage and support people in taking responsibility for their own mental and physical health where possible.
5. To create and provide a community space where all of the above can be achieved.
Operating from the Baker Centre, a new community hub and 8.6-acre site in New Eltham, Royal Borough of Greenwich in London, our goal is to ensure access to a healthy life is a right for all. Our vision is to be a multi-purpose hub for the community: working on food education including growing projects, nutrition and healthy eating. Activities on site currently include cooking lessons, holiday hunger programmes, growing and outdoor education days, community meals, community fridge, after school clubs, yoga, pilate.
