The Charity's objectives are "for the permanent aid of distressed gentlefolk". It provides financial aid through regular monthly payments to or for the benefit of persons whose income has been materially reduced through no fault of their own and who are aged 60 or over unless their reduced financial circumstances have been brought about through illness or accident.
The Charity does not actively fundraise but seeks to manage the resources it has carefully in order to provide funds to make benefit payments in accordance with its objects.
