REWA aims to bring together and improve the lives of socially isolated women from ethnic minority communities living in Richmond. The women REWA supports are of all ages and from a diverse range of backgrounds. REWA runs weekly sessions in a local community setting that enables women from ethnic minority backgrounds to come together to improve physical and mental health, sense of community, social cohesion, and skills development including English language and ICT.
We run activities requested by the women themselves; one of our core activities is regular exercise classes to improve both physical and mental health in an accessible, inclusive and comfortable setting. Other activities we have delivered in the past include trips to the theatre, museums or the seaside, craft workshops including flower arranging and card making, cooking classes and talks by professionals to support access to local services such as mental health services and training courses.
