Objectives

Get into Data is a social enterprise that is trying to make data education and opportunities accessible to all - and by doing so - are working to make the data industry reflect the world we live in through being more diverse and inclusive.

Massive skill gaps in data and digital equals massive opportunities for people who want to work in  these future proof careers.

Get into Data aims to support individuals who have been out of work, due to long term sickness, maternity or paternity, unemployment, COVID-19 or not being able to afford the cost to retrain for a new career. Our model aims create robust career paths for our members, for them to feel supported and mentored in an environment where they can thrive.

Our Aim is a ‘A Data driven world – built by and built for all of us’.

We believe that everyone can do data. Building a diverse data industry to help us build us an inclusive digital world. In 2021-2022, we want to help 200 returners return-to-data careers.

Activities

‘Get Into Data’ tries to mobilise the data industry to make time and space for diversity. Training in a skills gap area and getting our returners into a digital / data role, in this increasingly digital world is a win-win scenario for the employee and the employer.

We train, mentor and return-to-employment people who are traditionally excluded from data and digital roles.

  • We have had amazing traction from the industry, with 50+ signed up mentors, Tech vendors and partners signed up.
  • Launched an Aster Pilot for training which attracted 100 applications organically within 5 weeks.
  • Our LinkedIn & CV workshops as a first step to employment have worked with 50+ people and we have workshops that follow on.
  • In talks with various other partners to help us build collaborative ecosystems ( universities, councils etc)
