Objectives

The Restorative Justice Council (RJC) is the independent membership body for the restorative justice field.

Restorative justice gives victims the chance to meet or communicate with their offenders to ask any question that they may have and explain the real impact of the crime. It empowers victims by giving them a voice. Restorative justice also holds offenders to account for what they have done and helps them to take responsibility and make amends.

The RJC promotes awareness and understanding of restorative justice and works to enable safe, high-quality restorative justice to develop and thrive.

Activities

The RJC's work includes raising public awareness of restorative justice through work with the media and shaping national policy through our work in parliament and with the government. We also support our members to deliver high quality restorative justice by providing them with support, sharing best practice and facilitating collaboration.
