Objectives

Resco is an exciting, new social impact business charity that holds the firm belief that every business has the opportunity to be a force for good. Resco runs two social enterprises; Resco Living (a furniture and appliance business based in Hounslow) and Kettle+Crust (a cafe based in Hammersmith). These enterprises provide a platform for running our dynamic employability programme engineered to combat the cycle of long unemployment.

Resco is a groundbreaking venture leading the way in changing how business is done.

Activities

Alongside running two successful commercial businesses and all the activities related to their operations and development, Resco runs a successful and unique employability programme achieving inspiring results. 65% of participants who complete the programme are in employment 12 months later. Many participants find a renewed sense of confidence, purpose and self belief as well as new skills to enable them to journey into employment.

Participants are referred onto the programme by a diverse network of agencies and are from marginalised backgrounds having faced mental health issues, homelessness, offending, addiction and long term unemployment. Participants are equipped for employment through a tailored combination of:-

  • Work experience in a commercial business
  • Training; a combination of life skills and industry specific accredited training
  • Mentoring
  • Interventions including money management, IT training, confidence coaching and literacy.
