Objectives

Relate Oxfordshire is the leading local organisation offering confidential, professional counselling to couples, individuals, families and young people.  Its services are open to everyone regardless of whether they are married, cohabiting, living separately, same sex or are of mixed ethnicity.  It is part of the national network of Relate centres, overseen and supported by the national charity, Relate is the UK’s award winning and largest provider of relationship support, helping over a million people of all ages, backgrounds and sexual orientations to strengthen their relationships. Relate Oxfordshire (then Oxford Marriage Guidance Council) was formed in 1946.

Activities

Relate Oxfordshire's key mission is to develop and support healthy relationships by:

  • Helping couples, families and individuals to make relationships work better.
  • Delivering inclusive, high-quality services that are relevant at every stage of life.
  • Helping both the public and policy makers to improve their understanding of relationships and what makes them flourish.

This is achieved through four core services:

  • A consultation service
  • Relationship counselling
  • Psycho-sexual therapy (including compulsive sexual behaviour)
  • Education and training
