Relate East Kent helps with the emotional health and well-being of children and young people, families, individuals and couples in Canterbury, Ashford and the surrounding districts. This is through the delivery of a range of counselling services. Our help matters because Relationship breakdown costs the UK economy £44 billion each year (Cost of Relationship Breakdown Index, 2012) and the impact is even bigger if there are children involved. According to the ‘ONS: Measuring National Well-Being - Our Relationships, 2012’ personal and social relationships are important in our everyday lives and central to our well-being. This is especially true of children and young people who thrive in families, whatever their composition, where there are positive relationships.
The organisation meets its objectives through the delivery of children and young peoples' counselling, family counselling, relationship counselling for individuals and couples, as well as a discreet sex therapy service. It also has an education and learning department that provides workshops and courses for individuals, couples, parents and professionals.
