Welcome to the Reiki Project, a voluntary non-profit making organisation that aims to raise public awareness of the value of Reiki in our society.

Before we get into the other key aims of the group, it’s useful to understand what Reiki is, and exactly how it can help us in all aspects of our everyday lives:

Developed by Japanese Buddhist Maikao Usui in 1922, Reiki is an ancient natural energy that can be harnessed and used to aid healing, relaxation and wellbeing in people of all ages. No matter if you’re a child, a pregnant woman, or an elderly person, you still posses and can channel the non-invasive therapeutic healing energy of Reiki to help encourage positive personal choices, find inner harmony and improve the quality of our lives. Considered an alternative therapy, Reiki is based on qi (pronounced chi), which is a universal life force that can be used on its own for relaxation and wellbeing, or in conjunction with conventional medicine to expand treatment options for a variety of ailments. Did you know that acupuncture, tai chi and yoga are all based on the free flow of Reiki energy?

Now onto the fun stuff! The Reiki Project would like to arrange regular meetings for both Reiki practitioners and students to help cope with stress, encourage relaxation and bring balance to both the mental and physical aspects of our bodies. Through Reiki group shares and retreats, meetings of like-minded individuals and visits to spiritual locations, we hope to promote, allow and facilitate the growth of every person’s ability to use Reiki for empowerment and self-healing.

Whether you’re an experienced practitioner, or just a curious newbie, the Reiki Project is the perfect place to nurture, promote and encourage all aspects of this gentle, yet powerful energy.
