Objectives

RMNS aims to relieve the poverty and support the integration of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in and around the London Borough of Sutton. We provide the only free and qualified immigration advice in Sutton and also advise on housing, welfare, health, education and employment. We provide English lessons on 5 levels. Our services give essential help to many people to make the most of their opportunities for a happy and settled life in the UK.

Activities

RMNS employs a full-time qualified advice worker and a part-time voluntary advice worker who see clients at our office or at a weekly Drop-in session, with some administrative support.

We provide a creche to enable parents to attend our classes and a Mother-toddler group with ESOL input. Classes are taught by qualified teachers and supported by a large team of volunteer assistants.

We arrange talks and visits for classes to highlight aspects of local or UK life.

We have a befriending service for individuals and run craft projects to encourage informal use of social English.

Above all we offer a friendly welcome and an example, in our classes, of successful multicultural activity.
