The aim of the Foundation is to help young people between the ages of 15-40 and their families, through what will be one of the most difficult times in their lives. Through their grant funding The Foundation will offer individuals the chance to have a little time away from the draining effects of hospital visits, treatment schedules and try and make up some of the time spent away from family and friends, by trying to put a little normality back into life and help them make lasting memories and special moments.
The Foundation will look to make grant awards towards a wide range of activities and things, such as days out with family and friends, a holiday, a trip to the cinema, a meal, a football match, or things for their home that can be shared with siblings. The Foundation will consider a grant request tailored to an individual, be it something they have had a lifelong ambition to do, something that has been recommended as being beneficial to their rehabilitation or just something they have expressed a wish or desire to do. In addition The Foundation are aware that the effects of cancer go beyond the patient, therefore by offering grants to individuals, but including the family unit when necessary, they will be extending the opportunity for the family to spend quality time together, be it for a few hours, a day or a week, that time being important, invaluable and creates treasured memories.
