Off the Record is now in its 25th year of continuous service delivery and its third incarnation, having reverted to being a small independent charity in May 2013.
Our guiding principal is to provide vital support services that all young people can easily access in times of need. We believe that providing early help prevents future cost and suffering. Our Vision is that "Every young person has a welcoming space where they feel valued, supported and listened to”.
OTR is an established successful small charity with an experienced and effective team of staff and a positive reputation in the borough of Richmond. It is governed by a robust Board of Trustees who bring a broad range of personal and professional skills.
Off the Record Twickenham aims to create resourcefulness and independence in young people (11-24) in the London Borough of Richmond by providing free, confidential and accessible information, support and counselling to improve young people’s emotional and mental well-being at a time when they are experiencing unprecedented levels of stress and anxiety. We also provide supported drop-in information and a sexual health service.
Our services respond to the needs of young people and encourage them to make informed life choices. Our Centre is relaxed and non-clinical with counselling rooms, an office for drop-in and a small waiting area containing leaflets and information. The welfare and well being of young people is at the heart of what we do.
The counsellors who work at Off the Record Twickenham are mainly volunteers, with evidence based counselling qualifications for effective youth counselling.
