The Rebecca Swift Foundation is a registered charity that supports the craft, creativity and wellbeing of women poets in the UK. We believe that writing and creativity are for everyone; that a holistic approach to writing craft and process is the only way to promote true literary innovation; and that women’s rights are at the forefront of the movement for equality, in the literary world and in wider society.
The Rebecca Swift Foundation is home to biennial, free-to-enter Women Poets’ Prize and Women Poets’ Network: high-profile programmes designed to nurture and champion women poets, supporting them in the development of their work and practice, and bringing attention to stand-out voices. Run by women, for women, the programmes enjoy high-level industry partnerships with organisations including Faber & Faber, City Lit, Birmingham Royal Conservatoire, The Literary Consultancy, Poetry School and Bath Spa University. Judges for the Women Poets’ Prize have included acclaimed poets Liz Berry, Moniza Alvi, and Malika Booker. Winners have received mentoring from Isobel Dixon, Rachel Long, Martha Sprackland, Mona Arshi, and Deborah Alma.
