Geographical remit:

Samaritans aim is to reduce the number of deaths by suicide.

We attempt to do this by providing support to people who are in despair or emotional distress, via a 24 hour phone, email and text service. We also welcome face to face visitors at our centre.

Our service is crucial to people who may need us in troubling times and sometimes their darkest hours. We do not advise what to do, but truly listen and give callers the time and space to talk about what may be concerning them

We rely solely on donations to keep our centre in Reading running

We provide Outreach events in the local community, to ensure our profile is raised.

We work with local educational facilities, businesses nd the public, so people are aware of our services and how to contact us
