Objectives

We help exceptional students from lower-income households in England succeed at university, by awarding Reading List Scholarships of £250 to pay for their textbooks in the first year of study.  Such students can face severe financial pressures at university, and our Scholarships help them academically, give them some much needed financial and emotional breathing space, as well as a welcome boost to their CV.

Activities

We raise money from private individuals, Charitable Trusts and a few corporate supporters.  We then turn these into £250 Scholarships, awarded by particular schools to a Y13 student (they choose the student).  We try to encourage the donation to be personal - eg supporting a Scholarship at the donor's old school, or in the community where they live etc.
