Some 2.4 million adult in England either cannot read or lack confidence in reading, for whatever reason. Read Easy is a national organisation that helps any adult who struggles with everyday reading. Our local group, which is affiliated to Read Easy UK, recruits volunteer Coaches who work one-one with with a Reader, using manuals which work well with anyone who has difficulty in reading, including people with dyslexia. This service is absolutely free.
We provide each adult reader with their own personal coach, so that they can learn comfortably at their own pace. Coaches work from manuals - called Turning Pages - and reading books that have been designed for adults. Read Easy is confidential and flexible, so that readers can arrange their sessions to fit around work or other commitments. Coaches and their readers meet at locations that are safe, quiet and discreet.
