In 2019 - 20 we have supported a large number of people (over 4000) through a variety of projects supported by a dedicated network of more than 80 volunteers. We have also received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of the impact that we are having on our community.
We run a variety of projects and we are always looking at new opportunities in response to community need.
We have a twice weekly foodbank (in partnership with Stockport foodbank and Trussell Trust). We also have a growing group focused on educating people on growing food.
Our popular weekly Dementia friendly cafe provides support and an opportunity to socialise for both dementia sufferers and their carers . We also have a befriending service with volunteers visiting the most isolated in our community in their own home.
We are also working with other organisations at the moment to re-establish a youth group to provide a place for young people to socialise.
We have a shop which not only provides our community with the opportunity to buy low cost clothing, household goods, toys and books but also provides an income for our projects. We are currently in the process of refurbishing the space above this to become a hub that is a focal point for the community to come together
