RAKAT CT works with a broad range of charity and not for profit groups within our community. Using RAKAT CT allows organisations to plan outings and activities for their members at affordable rates. The majority of our work is with groups who provide services for those more vulnerable in our community including the frail elderly, those with mobility problems or disability. This helps ensure that loneliness, isolation, and disability do not affect their place in society. RAKAT CT also works closely with many local youth organisation and schools. Planned outings facilitated by RAKAT CT range from small local shopping trips to more adventurous activity based or cultural visits.
RaKAT is a second tier voluntary organisation therefore the monitoring information we can provide relates to the makeup of the voluntary/community/statutory organisations that make use of our services as gathered when those groups affiliate. We are unable to provide information specific to individuals for example when a voluntary organisation organise a trip using our vehicles and volunteer drivers we do not know the identities or details of their members on that particular trip. Per COVIDĀ our fleet on a yearly bases would completeĀ over 7,400 days/part days bookings. We completed over 181,000 passenger journeys. The vehicle fleet completed 229,000 miles of travel enabling 2,694,000 passenger miles to take place. During the year we provided voluntary drivers to cover over 600 trips for groups, mainly elderly unable to access a driver themselves. We also provided driver or passenger assistants training to 155 individuals. Please note this training is on a four year cycle. Our work is evenly spread across all areas of the two boroughs we serve saving that wards served by our Enterprise Schemes do account proportionately for more days/part days bookings and passenger journeys than the remainder.
