Objectives

Queens Cross Housing Association (QCHA) is a community-based housing association.

We’re a ‘not for profit’ organisation and recognised Scottish Charity (no.03634).

We provide nearly 4,500 homes to local people in an area that stretches north from Glasgow city centre along either side of the historic Forth and Clyde Canal. Our housing stock is varied and includes multi-storey flats, deck access properties and tenements.

We are run by a Board and four Community Involvement Groups. The majority membership of these is local people. Our four neighbourhoods are:

  • Woodside
  • Hamiltonhill/Westercommon
  • Queens Cross
  • Dundasvale

Activities

We have built new homes

We have just completed building 337 new homes for rent or shared equity.  This is the largest programme of new build properties in the Association’s history.  The new developments incorporate supported and sheltered accommodation for some of the area’s more vulnerable people.

We are part of the community

Our community development services provide education, employment, life skills and social activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

We provide sheltered and supported accommodation

We are a major provider of sheltered and supported accommodation with nearly 500 sheltered homes for older people. Our Council for Homeless Young People (CHYP) project provides supported accommodation for 13 young people aged 16 to 21 years, the Fire Station Project supports up to 40 vulnerable young adults and the Queens Cross East project support 38 people with mental health issues.
