Objectives

Pure Insight supports care experienced young people to thrive

Each year thousands of young people leave foster care or children’s homes, many affected by childhood trauma, neglect, and abuse. Pure Insight supports over 500 care leavers in the North West each year, aged 16-25, helping them make a successful transition to adulthood.  We do this by:

  • Helping care leavers build relationships, belonging and purpose through our 1-1 mentoring programme, group activities, and our drop-in cafés - all offered in the long term.
  • Helping care leavers to thrive through the support of our Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service.

Activities

Last year, through our long-term community mentoring programme 90% of care leavers reported improved independent living skills, through our mental health and wellbeing outreach we work supported 236 young people, with 98% reporting progress in wellbeing goals.
