Objectives

The Professionals Aid Guild (PAG) helps professionals in the UK with financial assistance. We are unlike other benevolent funds as we are not restricted to assisting those of a specific professional background. The main focus of our work is assistance in relieving distress and poverty, by making grants towards providing education, training or general relief. We award one-off grants for needs such as living expenses, a contribution towards essential household furniture including white goods, help to buy essential clothing, assistance towards the cost of essential repairs to the home that relate to safety, security and/or independent living in the  home, a contribution towards care home fees or respite care in partnership with other charities, further education course costs, and  contribution towards the costs of school uniform and books and equipment.

Activities

PAG has a small staff, currently seven Trustees and six committee members whose main task is to identify beneficiaries and award grants. The charity does not actively fundraise but funds its charitable expenditure through investment income, donations and legacies.
