We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive Climate Emergency Centre in Preston. We are a project that has developed from Climate Action Preston and have support of a core group of about 15 core people who support us and plan eduational, inclusive and informative events around us, such as Big Green Week. Climate Action Preston is an umbrella organisation under Friends of the Earth.
We provide advocacy and signposting support for those most effected by climate change (homeless people and addicts) and people interested to know more about the climate (students, young parents, retired people and professionals), but would like to expand with training and guidance to provide more support and expertise for those most effected by climate change.
As Preston city centre does not have a community centre since our museum and library has closed down, it's an essential service that we would like to expand.
Preston Climate Emergency Centre provide educational workshops on food resilience, how to repair clothes, recycling and give talks on renewable energy, cycling and the climate change and show films to educate people about indeignous land rights.
