Objectives

Summary of Charity Objects: The development, facilitation, and promotion of arts, community, and wellbeing for young people and adults of all ages.

We are new Charity that has formed following our collective years of working in the community of Poole, and in direct response to a growing need. We are in a Project Development Phase while working towards creating a landmark, beautiful Cultural and Community centre in the heart of the Regeneration Area of Poole.

We are in the process of creating a programme of arts, wellbeing, and youth activities through our established and developing partnerships with other statutory, community, and church organisations.

Activities

The Power House has been in a public consultation phase since January 2018. We have made extensive (but not exhaustive) links with statutory bodies and potential stakeholders and partners. We are in Phase 2 of this consultation where we are linking with residents and growing support.

Currently we hold newly launched monthly networking sessions; Generation Sessions are a larger workshop type event exploring different themes of The Power House and the needs of Poole. These alternate with Sparks Sessions which are a more informal social meet-up in a local pub. Both sessions are for the people of Poole who care about the community to come together, have a voice and explore how to meet the community's needs.

We are working towards creating a programme of arts, wellbeing, and community activities that will be held in various venues across Poole and Hamworthy.

The Power House is focused on enabling individuals and organisations to realise their potential. To share resources, learn, connect, and grow aspirations to develop a strong resilient community.
