The objects of the museum, house, and gardens, are to advance education for the benefit of the public by the provision and maintenance of a museum for exhibiting specimens of natural history and ethnography, and to promote education in subjects relevant to the specimens belonging to the museum and the use of such specimens in research.
Our vision is 'People Matter'; to be for everyone, we will make space for those voices in our Museum, past, present and future. This comes from listening to the diversity of voices within our community today and using our collections to make space for people who have historically been voiceless.
