Positive Pete started as a Charity in June 2012 and specialises in providing a Coach/Mentoring Programme specifically designed for young people and offers personalised programmes of one-to-one mentoring and coaching.
After a modest start with just 4 Mentors we have grown rapidly and currently have 24 trained Volunteer mentors working for us, mentoring 40 students. We also have a further 4 mentors under training about to join the team.
We currently work with and focus on students that fall within 7- 18 year age group who are from various academic, social, ethnic and economic backgrounds.
As a member of Team London, we also offer Group Coach/Mentoring programmes for young people and adults; these are tailored and personalised to meet the group’s needs. We presently work with 3 London Local Authorities as well as in Grays, Thurrock Essex and are looking to mentor throughout the Greater London area with a view to expanding into other areas within the M25.
Although our main focus is working with schools/academies,
We also offer support to a Bromley based charity LATCH who work with young homeless people from the age of 16-25. We provide coach/mentoring for this group that is centered around the Life skills needed for successful independent living. We believe that by working together we can have a positive impact in assisting them to turn their lives around.
We train our Mentors to a high standard and are continually looking at ways to improve our recruitment and development process in March'16 we receceived CPD Accreditation for our Foundation in Mentor Training. This is enabling us to increase the number of mentors available to work in an ever greater number of schools/academies along with providing a first class coach/mentoring support programme for those that wish to avail themselves of our services.
“We are there for as long as it takes”, encouraging them, offering them guidance and supporting them
“To Become The Best They Can Be!”
We offer personalised programmes of 1:1 mentoring/coaching to the schools we work in who have identified students that require assistance to enable them to move forward in their lives. They could be struggling in areas that include Behaviour, Anxiety, Lack of Confidence, Attendance issues, Learning issues etc. We work offer an initial 6 week mentoring programme which can be extended if required and continual measure the effect of the mentoring programme via the SIMS (a school based data system).
