Positive Futures
Positive Futures is a charitable youth organisation based in North Liverpool. We work with young people aged 8 to 24yrs giving them access to support, guidance and opportunities. We provide young people with access to some pretty awesome opportunities through our Streets, Schools, Services and Targeted Support programmes, helping young people on a one-to-one basis to overcome personal issues and challenges.
Positive Futures Homes
Positive Futures Homes is a new social enterprise dedicated to providing the highest standards in residential care for young people and investing in their long-term positive futures. We believe in helping every young person to achieve their potential, regardless of circumstance, and Positive Futures Homes will further enable us to do that by offering the highest quality home away from home, a friendly and experienced staff and unparalleled support.
We plan to set the new standard in residential care for young people, and will do this by having the best paid and trained staff and the best possible homes in the nicest possible locations.
We will also return the surplus funds to Positive Futures (PF) and Positive Futures Homes (PFH), helping us to help more young people. We want to ensure that we are safeguarding the future of our local young people, by safeguarding the future of our youth development services.
Positive Futures
Every week, Positive Futures has lots of activities going on for everyone! Whether you are sporty and want to have a kick around, enjoy getting creative, like drama or maybe swapping cards is your thing, regardless we always love to meet new young people who want to get involved and do something different.
As everyone needs some extra help and support from time-to-time, we have our friendly Targeted Support Team who can help. We work with young people on a one-to-one basis to help them overcome a wide range of issues or challenges. Our targeted support sessions cover everything from bereavement support, anger management to self-esteem, life skills and confidence building.
Every week, our team hit the pavements of North Liverpool to meet and support young people. We understand it’s important to be in a setting where they are comfortable. This is delivered via our Detached Youth Work Service. It could be that the young people they encounter need some signposting. Alternatively, they could also benefit from more formal support from the team at Positive Futures. Regardless of background, what football team they support or personal circumstances, our team of Youth Development Workers are ready to help.
Our Detached Youth Work covers several wards surrounding our head office. Quite often, the young people we meet then go on to access one (or more) of our services. That may be our Targeted Support or Weekly Sessions.
Throughout the year we take a number of young people on residentials. The trips can include taking the young people on outdoor adventurous activities, or more therapeutic themed residentials allowing all young people to share their own development. Our residential encourage young people to interact with each other, as well as developing team work, communication skills and life skills.
We work closely with the schools to help young people realise their potential and tackle the issues that are effecting themselves and the local communities they live-in. We deliver our School Based Support Programme through working with targeted groups on specific issues and working on a one-to-one basis with a young person. We create bespoke support programmes depending on the needs of the school or individuals involved.
Our work with schools focuses on education, relationships and character building. Whilst formal qualifications are incorporated into our support, informal education through personal development has equal importance.
Positive Futures Homes
Positive Futures Homes will provide a holistic, wrap around service for our young people. We will do this by delivering mental health provisions as standard, our residents having preferential access to the services offered by Positive Futures such as counselling or family support, providing access to all social, recreational or personal development provision going on at PF and having a belief in delivering a morally and ethically sound service for young people who need it the most.
