PAiLis the regional forum for age in London, representing the interests, needs and views of older Londoners. We are a self organised group of older Londoners aiming to ensure we older people are listened to and empowered. We run events with expert speakers which encourage informed discussion around key issues affecting older people. We actively empower and encourage older people to be actively engaged in lobbying, campaigning and responding to consolations by the Mayor of London and other government and decision making bodies.
We have enabled hundreds of older people to take part in the consultation feedbacks on the different Mayor of London's strategies, to discuss and then agree agreed recommendations on housing, employment, inclusion and other areas of concern.
We organise events with expert speakers on issues like housing, employment, inclusion, wellbeing, digital inclusion and Brexit that affect older people in London. We organise debates to agree common approaches and recommendations which we submit to the GLA, the Mayor and government plus the media, to get our voices heard and encourage the spread of knowledge to our members and the wider older population of London. We are working to represent older Londoners as co-producers with the GLA to deliver London as an age friendly city programme. We are represented on EngAgeNet the national age forum for older people.
