Geographical remit:

Portland Works Little Sheffield is a community benefit society with over 500 shareholders.  Since 2013 we have owned Portland Works, a Grade II* listed integrated works, built in 1879 and in use for manufacturing ever since. Our aims are to provide low cost workshop space, to repair and restore the building, and to provide education about the history and heritage of the cutlery industry in Sheffield.

We are the landlord to about 35 manufacturing tenants and craftspeople. We have a large group of volunteers who carry out the restoration and repair work and who steward the site on open days and events.  We have just appointed an outreach and education officer.
