Plan for Peace was founded by three times Nobel Peace Prize nominee Dr Scilla Elworthy and is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) whose mission is to generate a groundswell of people from all sectors who believe that a world without destructive conflict is possible and necessary.
Based in the UK with a global reach, we have grown quickly. As well as receiving funds from grants and donations, our income is drawn from the profits of our sister organisation, Business Plan forPeace - a not-for-profit company that embeds conflict transformation and peacebuilding strategies in major global brands.
Plan for Peace is pioneering a new global strategy, which will support countries to have the capacity to spot dangers to internal peace and to solve problems before they spiral into violence. Proof of concept work in ongoing and is likely to lead to the requirement of considerable added resources.
