Pie Factory Music is a music and youth work charity working across the districts of Thanet and Dover. We offer free, creative, open-access sessions for young people aged 8-18 yrs (up to 25 yrs with disabilities), with a focus on reaching those young people who are experiencing challenging life circumstances.
We believe that all children and young people should have access to creative opportunities, especially music making, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.
At Pie Factory Music we are committed to creating opportunities to enrich lives and enable change through creativity, openness and championing young people.
The following quote from one of the young people we're working with sums up the impact we have and why it matters:
“I’ve just felt really depressed for so long trying to make it… So what PFM does, it’s pretty much saving people’s lives”
We meet these objectives through three main areas of provision, with a focus on music and creativity:
We promote youth voice, supporting opportunities for young people to have input into matters that are important to them in their own community, as well as helping to guide the provisions we offer.
On average, each young person we’ve worked with has achieved 6 or more measurable outcomes such as gaining a new skill, seeing a positive change in behaviour or an improvement in self-confidence.
Everything we do is free of charge to young people, enabling any young person to attend our sessions, regardless of their background or circumstances.
