Pictologue seeks to bridge the gap between ‘mainstream’ and ‘special’, bringing professional knowledge and experience into the heart of the community to create resources and opportunities within daily life which are fully accessible and fun!

Our playroom focuses on creating an inclusive environment with fun activities and picture-enhanced toys and games that are updated seasonally enabling children to develop language, communication and social skills together with their parents/carers, siblings and friends.

• Group – make new friends and enjoy child-led play in a small, intimate setting (up to 6 children) - £6 per child (1 hour)
• 1-1 – child-led play with therapeutic techniques to address the child’s individual needs through the natural habit of play - £20 per session (1 hour)
• Private – bring your own buddies and enjoy exclusive use of our playroom – perfect for petite parties, play dates and parent groups - £5 per child (1.5 hours)
• Outreach – events, parties and mobile playroom (coming soon)

Our ToyBox service offers a unique, accessible toy library for parents/carers and professionals within local libraries, children’s centres and now online for local pick up.

• ToyBox Programme – toy box training groups led by specialist therapists and teachers to demonstrate inclusive play and provide additional support for children who have communication and learning needs within their nursery or children’s centre – free 6 week programme offered to local nurseries during trial phase (2018-19) with a view to rolling this out further
• Toy Library – toy rental service available online and at Richmond & Twickenham libraries and local children’s centres enabling families to borrow and bring home a seasonal selection of our toys and games ranging from 50p-£5 per item per month
• Toy Shop – all our toys and games are available for sale and we reinvest our profits to support the running of Pictologue services. Our toy shop is available online, at local seasonal market stalls and now customers can browse and purchase our Pictologue ToyBox collection at a local shop - Balloon Works, Kew – as we look for a new/additional  high-street location. Average RRP £12.50.

We provide Specialist Therapy for children who need extra help, offered at home, local nurseries, schools, centres and at our playroom. Therapy focuses on enabling successful communication and positive learning through play, 1-1, in a group or within class. Drawing on a clinical foundation of Speech and Language Therapy and Play Therapy, our therapists design personalized therapy programmes for each child. Our specialist approach enhances speech, language and communication skills, as well as each child’s emotional well-being.

• Speech & Language Therapy, 1-1 priced from £40 for 30 minutes, £60 for 45 minutes, £75 for 1 hour at the playroom (£80 for 1 hour at school; £85 for 1 hour at home)
• Play Therapy, 1-1 priced from £30 for 30 minutes, £45 for 45 minutes, £60 for 1 hour at the playroom (£65 for 1 hour at school; £70 for 1 hour at home)
• Child & Family Counselling (coming soon)

• Therapy assessments, reports and written homework plans
• Consultation, outreach, training and workshops for community organisations, schools and centres

In order to make therapy accessible, we offer different prices according to time and location. Families who are not able to afford 1-1 therapy may be able to access group therapy (priced per group) or Pictologue Play 1-1 (£20 for 1 hour). We also plan to seek funding to offer needs-assessed bursary places for all our therapy services in the future.
