Objectives

Science has always played an essential role in the growth of the world-wide economy and now, more than ever, it is essential to the future survival of our planet as we know it. Physics Partners want to build-up the physics skills and knowledge of pupils so that we have a strong pipeline of enthusiastic young people helping the UK with the challenges ahead.

Physics Partners is a small, unique charity whose focus is to develop training that physics teachers need and deliver it where and when they want. Set-up in 2007, we were run, initially, by dedicated volunteers who recognised the need to support teachers in certain subjects, but our founders soon realised that the challenges facing physics meant they needed to focus solely on physics. Since then, the charity has continued to grow, year-on-year and now has a small team of part-time staff.

Activities

We design and deliver bespoke training to help teachers inspire pupils to enjoy physics to a level they would not have done otherwise – whether that is a post-16 science-based apprenticeship, A Level physics or even on to a degree.

To help us reach those teachers that need our support most, we partner with teacher training institutions, multi-academy trusts, independent schools and universities. In 2022-23, through our work with teachers, we improved the experience of physics at school for over 129,300 pupils in England.
