Peterborough Sight (formerly Peterborough Association for the Blind) was established in 1913 and has been supporting local visually impaired people ever since. Our aims are to help people with low vision and sight loss who may feel lonely and isolated to maintain their independence and quality of life and get back into the community by providing social events and activities.
We provide quarterly newsletters, run various social clubs and activities as well as befriending and ring around services. We are also here to help our members find the information and services that they need through signposting to other organisations that are able to offer equipment and aids to assist their daily life. We run a monthly tech group to introduce technical equipment that our members might find useful and we find our members also benefit greatly from meeting other members in similar situations and make new friendships through our regular activities. We do not offer any type of personal care but again we are able to signpost to other organisations that do offer these services.
