Objectives

We are an independent local charity affiliated to National Mind who aim to promote good mental health, and we develop and run services to help serve people with mental health problems.

Our mission is to be there for anyone who needs us, and we believe in early intervention and prevention. We believe in the principles of recovery and resilience, and of treating people as the experts on themselves.

Activities

Our services include Advocacy, helping individuals with a variety of issues, including housing, employment, benefits, family issues, and medical treatment; the Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) service for people who have been detained under the Mental Health Act, and our specialist service ACE works with adults with mental health problems who in the past have felt excluded. Additionally, we run a resilience project (Connecting Mums) that seeks to prevent pregnant women, and those with children under the age of two, from developing Postnatal Depression.

As well as this we offer a Wellbeing and Recovery service, which includes a Recovery Programme (individual support to people experiencing mental health problems), in which individuals are offered up to 8 one to one sessions with a Recovery worker. This service also includes our South Lincolnshire project, which sees an outreach worker deliver the recovery programme and group sessions to individuals struggling with poor mental health within Stamford, Bourne and Spalding.

Finally we offer a range of training programmes for individuals or organisations on topics such as Mental Health Awareness, Stress Management, Equality and Diversity, and Managing Mental Health in the workplace. We also deliver the internationally accredited Mental Health First Aid training.

As we support individuals aged 18-65, our service indirectly contributes to better outcomes for children, young people and families as our work with one individual can have a knock on effect onto others.
