a. To use discussion groups and the Performing Arts to educate young people and adults about the social, economic and environmental issues affecting them.
b. To provide training and skills development that will empower young people, job seekers and the unemployed and disadvantaged offering them opportunities to identify and develop their artistic, and technical skills.
c. To boost the self-esteem/self-confidence of people by offering them the opportunity to collaborate in mounting collaborative projects and/or perform and exhibit their skills and talents to audiences. This will empower them to better handle life challenges they imminently face.
d. To use various performing arts and cultural activities as alternative forms of education, entertainment and recreational activities.
e. To network and collaborate with other local, national and international organisations with similar objectives in the provision of services.
Increase the potential, the self-awareness, self-confidence and the health and well-being of identifiably disadvantaged people within the local area through providing discussions, self-help group workshops and other forms of engagement as alternative forms of education and recreation. Address the cultural and well-being needs of our local communities and people within the surrounding areas. Offer to categories of local people, such as the isolated elderly, single parents etc who have problems such as loneliness, lack of social opportunities, suffer poverty or are living on severely restricted incomes and other disadvantaged groups opportunities to meet together voice and share their concerns and problems, Provide a structured social venue where they benefit from sharing the experience and advice of others within the groups, benefit from solutions found by others and from the advice and help of people assisting the group and local volunteers and a meeting place where individuals can join or form self–help groups and co-operatives for local small projects (such as forming small co-operatives for food purchases). To offer regular meetings where individuals from different ethnic communities are encouraged to demonstrate aspects of their cultures in practical, socially enjoyable ways (such as preparing and cooking their own national or regional dishes for the group to sample in a social atmosphere), Where different guest volunteers may talk, demonstrate and assist the group with problems that the discussion group meetings have identified as of particular concern to members of the group. (For example in health issues such a guidance in economical and healthy eating, or volunteers with expertise in the field help to make sure people within the groups are made aware of and helped with opportunities to benefit from other local or national schemes (such as the warm home initiatives) and are thus also provided with a venue and the opportunity to overcome isolation socialise meet, integrate, gain support, and form friendships with people within the wider community. Broaden the awareness of group members to the social, economic and environmental issues affecting their lives. Promote community development and community cohesion through the means mentioned in (1) and through developing people’s abilities to channel their energies and give voice to their particular concerns, via discussion groups leading to the formation of practical self -help groups as exampled in (2) and via visual and performing arts projects.
