Objectives

Penny Brohn UK is a National charity, funded by public donations that provides free, integrative care to everyone living with cancer, before, during and after treatment.

We know that cancer affects so much more than just your body.

Our aim is to bring improved health and enrichment to everyone affected by cancer. Whether you’re dealing with a first-time diagnosis, or you are further on in your cancer journey and are looking for ways to live well post-treatment, we want to help you find the right physical and emotional support for you to build your resilience.

Our Bristol Whole Life Approach helps you to live as well as possible in every area of your life, no matter who you are and whatever your circumstances. It recognises that, to be healthy, we need to pay attention to all parts of ourselves – our mind, body, spirit and emotions, as these are all closely connected and work together to support our immune system and its ability to keep us well.

We’re driven by the desire to help people live the best lives possible for as long as possible, going the extra mile to make it possible.

We have an amazing team of volunteers at Penny Brohn UK, and we’re always looking to add to it.

Our volunteers do everything, from cheering on marathon runners, speaking at events, to working for our admin team at our National Centre outside Bristol.

No matter how much or how little time you can give, it all makes a difference and makes a big difference to the number of people we can help. You’ll be able to bring valuable experience and skills from whatever walk of life you’ve come from and you’ll meet new people to work with for a common cause – and we always try hard to find the right opportunity for you.

Activities

The Bristol Whole Life Approach lies at the heart of everything we do. At its core, it’s about building resilience into every aspect of life and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal and repair itself.

We recognise that all parts of ourselves – mind, body, spirit and emotions – are all closely connected and work together to support our immune system and its ability to keep us well.

Our Approach provides a powerful combination of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support that is designed to help anyone affected by cancer, at any stage of the disease.

Through courses, groups and individual sessions you can learn how to eat well and stay active, manage your emotions and relationships, and reconnect with the things in life that you love – all of which are linked to health.

This Approach has inspired thousands to play an active role in their health and wellbeing, bringing them a renewed sense of hope and control.
