Objectives

Pennine Magpie provides day-care services for adults with learning disabilities. However rather than just providing care, service users (students) have opportunities to gain skills and undertake personal development. This enables our students to lead a more independent life and contribute more to society. This helps promote an overall feeling of wellbeing, which is a major factor in the students overall happiness.

Activities

We provide day care for our students and during their time at the centre can take part in a wide range of activities for skills and personal development in which choice and enjoyment play an important part.

The activities include

  • Computing
  • Gardening
  • Arts and crafts
  • Maintenance work
  • Radio/recording studio
  • Dance and drama
  • Exercise and sport
  • Independent living skills
  • Recreation and trips out
  • Skills for work and volunteering
