Objectives

We help people, organisations, especially schools to build more peaceful cultures. We focus on children and young people resourcing them with creative and non-violent ways to resolve conflicts and to build a knowledge and experience of peace in their lives.  We help with conflict resolution skills, restorative approaches, building inner peace, helping an organisation with a peaceful ethos.

We help reduce serious conflicts in schools, build community cohesion, resource adults and children and young people to create their own peaceful solutions to problems. Youth on youth violence is still a problem in society, bullying in schools is sadly still common, as a society we are seeing increasing levels of polarisation, and hate crime and extremism are growing fears for many. Our work is to combat these by looking at how as individuals, social beings and as communities we can build the skills, knowledge and attitudes of peace.

Activities

We run 10 week courses called 'Peacemakers' in primary schools across the West Midlands

In primary and secondary schools we train children and young people to be Peer Mediators - young people resolving conflict or young people.

  • We help schools introduce restorative approaches in their school
  • We help schools build peace curriculums to develop the skills across the school
  • We run workshops for parents in conjunction with schools on building, maintaining and repairing relationships.
  • We run workshops for schools on how to make a difference at our offices in central Birmingham.
