Our organisation helps young people and local communities in the Lamjung region of Nepal by promoting and enabling education and community development projects. These include everything from sponsoring students through school to infrastructure projects. Although Partners for Progress was only established in 2019 our work has been going on, unofficially, for three decades providing us with an extensive network of contacts and a firm relationship of mutual trust and respect with the local people. Our work helps to improve the lives of individuals, providing better facilities for local communities, better opportunities for students to study at college and university level and opportunities for local people to realise their ambitions.
To meet our objectives we meet with and consult our Nepali partners annual to provide guidance and direction to our charities policies and priorities. We maintain links with two schools in the UK and in Nepal, with students from the UK travelling out to Nepal to teach and engage with our projects. We provide talks to local school and groups to explain our work and raise funds alongside fundraising events throughout the year from open gardens to sponsored obstacle course runs. Our priorities and actions are guided by our Nepali friends and we provide assistance in whichever way is most useful, often through grants for specific projects.
