PARC (Essex) is a registered children's charity providing play and recreation facilities for children with additional needs and short break care for their families and carers.
Based in our own specially built facility at Great Notley country park near Chelmsford, we currently help support over 500 families within the Essex area. In 2017 Ofsted awarded PARC (Essex) an Outstanding rating.
The Trustees are now seeking additional members to join the board of trustees, many of whom have children with additional needs and understand the importance of maintaining the high quality of service provided by PARC (Essex). We are especially interested in recruiting trustees with experience in fundraising, personnel management or accounting. However our main interest is to find enthusiastic Trustees who will find it incredibly rewarding to be part of an organisation which believes... "every child has a right to play, regardless of their individual needs or abilities”.
We offer a wide variety of services, play opportunities and activity sessions at our purpose built indoor centre and outdoor adventure playground, where children with disabilities can enjoy themselves, while parents and other siblings can take a break.
Our services are currently used by over 500 families in the Essex area and we have a range of children on our books, from birth up until the age of 25, including those with speech and language difficulties, autistic spectrum, epilepsy and those with physical and learning difficulties
Parents and families also receive networking opportunities with other families in similar circumstances and also from our dedicated and experienced team.
Our Activity Clubs run all year round, during term time and the school holidays.
This gives the families of additional needs children a break and opportunity to undertake other activities, safe in the knowledge their children are being cared for.
All of our play sessions are led by experienced, NVQ Level 3 staff (or higher)
