Objectives

Our organisations helps anyone of any demographic who requires knowledge and understanding of the importance of early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Our organisation's main objective is to raise awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer to aid early diagnosis. Currently, the only potential cure for pancreatic cancer is surgery, which is only available to those who have been diagnosed in the early stages (i.e. stages 1 and 2). If diagnosed beyond these stages, pancreatic cancer is incurable and patients often die within weeks of diagnosis. By raising awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer, we are highlighting the importance of seeking help from GPs if symptoms arise and we are educating GPs and other healthcare professionals around the importance of the severity of the symptoms to increase referral rates. In doing so, we envisage a day where everyone can survive pancreatic cancer.

Activities

  • We raise public awareness of pancreatic cancer and it's symptoms.
  • We provide education and awareness training for healthcare professionals.
  • We campaign and lobby the government and key stake holders for change.
  • We fund research into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
  • We provide free patient information for those diagnosed and living with pancreatic cancer.
