Objectives

Paiwand provides support and care for refugees and vulnerable migrants in North West London. We help people to get back on their feet through information advocacy and empower them with the skills and confidence to take control of their futures, through education and social support.

Activities

  • We support the immediate challenges of their re-settling in the UK – from legal advice with claiming asylum and helping with the logistics of securing a place to live to helping look after physical and emotional well-being.
  • We work in partnership with a network of local primary schools to provide more than 500 children with tailored and high-quality extra schooling in English, Maths, Drama and Music, as well as Dari and Pashto.
  • We support the well-being of unaccompanied minors and refugee youths arriving in the UK. As well as providing a safe and supportive place to live for 14 young people aged 16-18, we help the young refugee community across North West London improve their confidence through mentoring, education and employability support.
