Objectives

PDT's mission is "Communities in Control".  We were founded in 1998.  We are an anchor organization, working alongside thousands of local people and partners to open up opportunities in employment, skills and qualifications, business start-ups, volunteering, and also influencing the shape of local education, housing and community infrastructure. Since its establishment we have raised and invested more than £60m in capital and revenue projects.
Most recently, we fundraised £7.5m for the heritage restoration of St Mary Magdalene Church now managed under the name Grand Junction @ ST Mary Magdalene grandjunction.org.uk. It is a Grade 1 Listed Building and new cultural and community arts centre in the heart of the Westbourne Ward, one of the most disadvantaged localities in the UK.

Activities

We deliver a wide range of projects and activities including public health, community development, business start-up, employment support, training, children and young people's activities and an arts and cultural programme.  Our staff work alongside volunteers to deliver most of our programmes.
